        Step 1: Evaluation & IntroductionAll prospective students start with a 1-hour evaluation introduction lesson. This gives everyone the opportunity to learn more about this sport and to determine if it’s something you would like to continue with. Introductory evaluation includes: Use of safe lesson horse, private instructor, equipment and helmet.

        Step 2: Proper Riding UniformThe academy’s focus is mastering horsemanship. Riders must wear appropriate riding attire: Collared Shirt or Riding Top - No Neon, Animal prints or loud patterns Riding Breeches - Tan or Navy Approved Riding Helmet Paddock Boots or Tall Boots Uniform may be purchased at Quail Hollow Tack in Flower Mound, Tx.

        Step 3: Weekly LessonsStudents are required to take 1 lesson per week and encouraged to lesson twice, weekly. Like any sport, the increased frequency equals advancement. Students work with our introductory trainer for 90-120 days. The Academy’s curriculum is focused on safety. Riders will gain confidence and skills for tacking (getting the horse ready) learn posting trot and two point. A graduation will follow to an intermediate trainer.

        Step 4: Intermediate InstructionStudent will graduate from the beginner to intermediate instructor. Riding a minimum of twice weekly, students will focus on: Equitation and Stability Show Jumping Pace, Track & Distances Course Design Proper Lunging Techniques Equine first aid, and more. Instruction may be both private and group lessons.

        Step 5: CompetitionStudents will be invited to participate in local and national competitions. EquiPoint Equestrian Academy hosts onsite horse shows. Lesson horses maybe leased for horse showing up to the short stirrup. Once a rider progresses past the short stirrup division leasing or purchasing is required for any future advancement.
